Default We'll never know about the Summit opti life

Well, we won't get to know if the Summit opti lasts a year or more. My NAPA supplied water pump decided it didn't want to last more than 4 months and leaked all over the opti. needless to say, you know what went out too. Uggh. Partsladi on Ebay was cheaper this time so I ordered the new waterpump and opti from them.

It's almost as if the car is telling me to keep going, remove the timing cover, gear, chain, replace cam..............

Sorry to hear that man. Did the waterpump you get have a lifetime warranty?

I don't mean to preach and say Carquest is awesome, but I love that I bought mine there. I bought one from autozone it lasted 2 weeks, they covered it under warranty, it last about 4. Finally bought one from Carquest with a lifetime warranty and now that it has one it hasn't gone out in about a year. Those ebay optis are awesome though. I have bought 3 of them now because they are 30 bucks, I have about 10 thousand on the first one and it is still going strong, and I have 2 extra ones just in case

nah, partsladi has the Delphi OEM optispark unit for $250. I actually paid more to get a made in USA waterpump at NAPA. The one at advaced auto was made elsewhere but cheaper.

I'll never know. it's just a pain in the butt. As for warranty, they can't warrant my labor or the opti.

Yeah I see your point. Just curious because the pump I just got installed was a GM one and it has a lifetime warranty from GM.

well I like my setup now, because my brother bought the place, so I can warranty just about anything now, but as far as I know they have never gave him a hard time about warranties, except for electrical items.
