alright so i need sum underdrive pulleys and i dont know which ones to get. i dont care about looks i just care about performance so which ones will give me better performance.

there is all different ones and i want the ones that give me the most power.

 

The main thing is to keep them large enough so the PS, Alt, AC, and all that still work right. If You put too small a pulley on any system, it won't spin fast enough to work mproperly. So stay away from the " drag race only " pulleys.

 

BBK makes a real nice one i just put on, it doesnt decharge your batery or effect anything that your belt runs. i deffinitly noticed a change in the horse power. you have to use the stock ballancer and you put that over top of the underdrive pulley. the bbk kit gives you the longer bolts to do it and the instructions have what size belt you need to get because it will be smaller.

 

i just want to know which one of those is the best for performance. cause there is a 34% crank and 23% and 15% alternator and idk which combination or which ones or one to get.

 

You will get better results by leaving the pulleys alone and getting an electric water pump. The water pump in the LT1 uses a lot of power at high rpm. Being that itis gear driven, changing pulleys does nothing for the water pump. With changed pulley,the alternator will try to draw as much power as it needs. The AC will run weakly, and the power steering will be down on power when you need it most. All this aggravation for 5HP gain. The electric pump will save about 12 Hp at high RPM.

 

well i had a meziere one but idk what happend to it. and i just put a new water pump on so idk im not gonna mess with it then. cause i mean i have leather interior and no t-tops so on hot days i use the A/C a lot. and i also have a sub. but what if i got a lighter crank pulley same size but made of like billet aluminum u think that would provide any gains? prolly only like 1 rwhp if that?

 

Lighter pulleys will not add power, but may trake a very slight load off the engine during acceleration, but I doubt you will notice it.
