hi all ive got a 94 z28 lt1 camaro... and i have this problem and it recently started when i was behind really slow drivers slamming on brakes cause they were going 1 mile over the speed limit sooo i had to keep pushing my brakes and keep pushing and on and on...well after they finally got out of the way and i was able to give some gas my car started to shutter back and forth and my rpms droped like from 2400 to 2000 rpms but if i tap the gas it will rev back up to where its suppose to be for about 5 second then drop rpms again.... and when it does drop the rpms and i give it some gas without tapping it the rpms wont increase unlease i put it half throttle then it will finally downshift and go.....i unpluged my MAF and it mostly stoped shuttering for the most part till i have drop the speed to about 45MPH then it shutters bad again...the SES light aint on only when i had MAF unpluged lol..but this is kinda driving me nuts cause when i have to get out of the way it will just rev up till it hits half throttle then downshifts ...it only does it in 4th gear OD if i manually put it in 3rd gear it drives fine with no problems....i had opti replace plugs and wires oil tranny fluid filter but nothing is helping it ..like if i tap the gas and hold it there it will be fine for about 5 sec then rpms will drop and u can tell it to cause my pipes are not as loud lol....

fuel filter maybe. check your fuel pressure. make sure your brakes arent sticking. had that happen once. they get hot

 

ty for replying i have replaced the fuel filter which was a nogo lol do you think it might be the fuel pump? cause when i first start my car it will start and like 0.5 sec later it will shut off then i have to turn the ignition switch on and off a few times before it will start and some times i dont hear the fuel pump coming on ..... ohh and my car use to do 60MPH in 2.5 or 3 sec but now its like its in 2nd gear and wont probly do 60MPH in 5 sec lol ..... but if i unplug the MAF sensor it will take off like it use to but SES light s on duh lolol...thanks for the replys

There is a fuel pressure kit you can pick up at any auto parts store and it will come with insturctions that are pretty easy to follow.

 

alright thanks man ill run up to autozone since there the closest within 50 miles lol and pick up the kit and post back after i get the results
