So far as I can tell, it's only the smog equipment that's been unhooked. The "dangling wires' are from the air pump. On Thursday I'm ordering the cables and the software to read the PCM myself from TunerCat.com for $159, if you know of something better let me know.
I live in the middle of no where and everywhere I've called either only have OBDII equipment (which I already have) or just have general 85-95 GM OBDI readers (which I understand will not work with the 94 model, not sure if it's because they switched to flash eproms that year or what). Also, my Service manuals should be here within the next week or so as well.

In all honesty, once I pull the codes, the engine may come out next for a rebuild, but I wanted to get it running right before so I knew what to fix while it was out. The blowby is pretty bad, but nothing out of the exhaust until you stab the go peddle to 5k rpm or so you get a bit. Found a master rebuild kit for $475, but would need to measure the bores to figure out if it needs to be bored out before I bought the kit.

Once I get more edumacated on this particular car and engine, I should have some more intelligent questions to ask if I have actual problems, right now I'm just wastings everyone's time. I had an LS1 (ws6 trans am) some years ago but that seems to be easier than this thing. Everything on this car seems to be overly complicated and difficult.

ETA: I don't plan on modding the engine of this car in the near future as it's going to be a DD, I just want to get it back to stock condition and running how it's supposed to. Of course, I say now it's going to be stock but I have a really hard time time with that word, but I promised my wife i wouldn't put a bunch of money into it that i couldn't get out of it, LOL. (I know you guys hate fords but I have a 76 4x4 with a 390 that's been stroked to a 445, a "Just get it back on the road" project that turned into almost a frame off resto, my LS1 didn't have a single stock suspension component and about 3 grand worth of engine work, also was supposed to just be a DD (was dubbed the WS6 ZXR)

To follow up with this, I took Camaro 69's advice and unplugged the coil. Car then turned over normally again. So, as I said before, it seems like the timing is way advanced for some reason.

Also, it idles about 1,000 rpm - put it in gear and it'll die most of the time. Runs pretty smooth until it idles below 1,000rpm. Even the AC will almost kill it.

Scanner should be here soon, hopefully will shed some light on the situation.

when the AC kicks on the IAC should compensate for that.
