Angry Think im getting ripped off. Help me?

Okay i think im getting ripped off from what im told. I dont know alot about cares but i have a 94 camaro z28... LT1... I Have my cats hollowed out...I took my car to my moms "friend" who is suppose to look out for me. I was told that my egr valve was bad and that was a lot of moeny to replace mostly laber. I also said that my airpump went bad and my water pump was leaking but no coolant was visible on driveway. Do i really need a air pump? i was told that the airpump had to do with the cats and emissions but we have no emissions in my state of ky. Do i even need a air pump or a egr valve? please let me know something. Could you PLEASE EMAIL me at saucycrossover1@aol.com and let me know somthing pleasseee. i just payed 800 to fix leak and new airpump. i payed like a thousand dollars for egr valve n stuff so pleaseeee let me know. thanks

It sounds like you paid a little much. Even if it's a "friend" that's helping you out it's ALWAYS a good idea to get a second estimate on cost or better yet, a second opinion on the problem. You are correct about the A.I.R. pump, it's only for emissions, as is the EGR. I can't actually tell you if your water pump was leaking, but if it was that did need to be fixed.

if you deleted the air pump and egr, then you'd have to get block off plates and it'd be a good idea to tune your computer so the SES light isn't on

depends on were the parts came from. i picked up a new air pump on ebay for 140. 200+ at the dealer, water pump at summit 140. most likely 200+at a dealer and the egr thing would depend on what was replaced. all of it depends on were and who did it. if done yourself or the friend then no labor. if shop does it labor is usually way more than parts. get a manual for your car.
