Angry so pissed off

well sinse my resurfacing the heads question yesterday i took the heads off and begain to start prepin the block to assemble it with the new head gaskets and stuff. As i was wiping the inside of the cylinders with oil i noticed a gauge on the wall of cylinder one from possible piston slap. so i took a caliper and measured all of the cylinders and it seems like there all off eather that i got the worst measuring device in the world. so now i got a few more questions. 1, the motor is bored .30 over so wat should the bore measure? 2, is it possible that i will need new pistons or just rings?3 this may be a far out question but does anyone have an estamate on what a shop would charge to do the machine wrk and reasembly of the bottom end . thanks alot

1 the stock bore is 4 in. so .030 over should read 4.03 in. 2 yes it is possible 3 depends on what needs to be done. 500 to 1200.

consider a good, used, LT1 block or short block...these LT1 engines are thin castings and extra large water jackets encroach on the cylander walls for extra cooling.,030 is about max for safe boring. If this ie truely nicked, gouged and irregularly bored you may not have enough metal to fix it. Are you sure your eyes and guage are not lying?
