Short or long tube header?
Im not to sure which headers i should buy for my TA,I mean shorter seem to beless of a painbecause u dont have to move ur calatyic converters, so i guess this would be the the cheaper easier rout, but im not to sure about the differents in short header, less hp milder soundbut easier to install,or should i try to go with long tube header. Is it possible to still have cats of with long tube plz somone help me choose which type would be the best overall thanks btw i have a 97 Trans Am.

If you not a hardcore drag racer, the shorties will probably work out better, if nothing else you should have better ground clearance. If you want the last bit of power then the long tube will work out better. The long tube will give better low end power. Both set ups can be had with cats, but be sure to get a good exhaust system to go with the headers otherwise you will accomplish little,

Another thing to consider, to get long tubes with good performance and ground clearance, you'll have to chuck out some bucks for a pretty good set of headers. In my opinion, my Kooks were worth every penny, but it's a pricy peice. I'd say if you dont' want to have to deal with the hassle of putting in the LT's and relocating the cats, go for the shorties, but if you're willing to spend some quality time and do a good job, go for a good set of LT's.
