shift kit
I just did one on my 1993 this weekend. If you don't have a lift....FIND ONE!!! It is not something you will want to do on the ground (unless you have no other choice). The actual process is pretty easy. Just be sure to read the instructions and follow them closely. Only special tool you should need is a torque wrench capable of 10 ft-lbs. to retorque the valve body after you replace the pressure plates. Use grease to hold the check ***** inplace so they don't move around especially if your working on the ground!!
It was a great improvement in shift quality. I used the B&M shift improver kit stage 2. $35 from Summmit. Spins the tires 1-2 barks them 3-4. NICE

It has a Jet performance chip,K&N CAI,TPI air foil,Off road 3" ypipe, no cat, 3" flowmaster cat back. I justbought it with all the mods,so I don't know what stock performance is like but it is a very quick car. Nothing to flaunt but if you need it its there....
This spring im goin to put some sticky tires on it and head to the track. Right now flooring first gear results in sideways acceleration!!

I installed a Trans-Go brand shift kit in my 94. It was pretty straight forward. May I suggest that you get two new valve body gaskets before you start if they are not includedin the kit. I'm not sure if all shift kits require the removal of the valve body for the 4l60e but mine was so brittle it feel apart when removed. I was alittle bumbed that I had to wait a couple of days for the gaskets to arrive.
to be honest, I had a choice of waiting a week for the individual gaskets for aprx $8 plus $12 freight or wait a couple of days for aentire gasket set for $22. Ielected to go with the entire set, but that's the problem with livingin the middle of thePacific. I'm sure you could call your local parts stores and getthem like today. good luck.
