security light
ok so my security light is on flashin, it looks like one of the pellets from the cylinder is wey too push down , and may not be touching the key resistors, also what i try doing was, that i disconnected the at the end the key pellets , its a 2 pin connector that is in an Orange insulator. I try messuaring for resistance by opening the key on the run possition and i get no reading off resistance, now that i get no resistance it could be that the one of the pellet has gone bad, now if i wanted to remove and install a new lock cylinder, what do i do excatly, do i need to get the same resistance cylinder since it will be send to the anti theft module? oh wat do i do?

RE: security light
The cylinder does not care what resistance value the key has, but the security module does, and it will prevent the starter from engaging and the fuel injection from working. To measure the pellet resistance, take the key and with a multimeter set to OHM scale touch the probes to the sides of the pellet where the metal contacts are. You have to be very careful working on the steering column as you don't want to hurt yourself when the air bag decides to go off. Get a good service manual.

Yes i found out what the resistance is its 886, now how can i know if the module is getting that reading? or what would bethe next thing to do? I really need help ya are my last chance, if not its going straight to the dealership. THIS IS WAT I HAVE DONE SO FAR, HERE IS A WEBSITE THAT WILL HELP. TO EXPLANE WHAT I'VE DONE.
