Default Saving for mods...to beable to keep up with 5th gen??

I know right now I can beat a '10 v6. Already have. But, I'm getting a ton of hours this summer and will be able to save up some money for mods. My best friend got a 2010 l99 ss and my goal is to be able to stay with him/beat him. Is that possible?

Mods considering:

Headers
Cutout
Cai
Smooth intake elbow
Cam
Dyno tune

With those mods. Do you guys think I'll beable to run with him? If not, what else can I do down the road?

Thanks for all the help guys!

Looking at the #s stock to stock the 4th gen Z28s and SS's are not too far behind the 10-11 SS Camaros. The new car has too much weight and it takes the 435HP to make up the difference for the almost 1000 lbs more the car weights over the 4th gen cars. Get an LS1 camaro and I bet just some intake exhaust and tune you will be able to keep with or pass the 5th gens.

So true Massey. Hell, give me a 4000 stall and I'll take on any stock 5th gen SS.

what transmission is in your car? what year? is it a convertable? (weight difference) we need more info on the car itself.
