High voltage from the MAP indicates high MAP which translates in low vacuum, or WOT. The PCM will set DCT 33 when it sees a High MAP when the throttle is less than 3% open. With the throttle almost closed the MAP signal should be Low (High vacuum). Could be a bad MAP sensor or bad connections or wiring to the MAP, or a vacuum leak to the sensor. The PCM looks at the map to set the fuel mixture when the engine first starts, the high map tells the PCM a lot of air is entering the engine, even though it is not possible because the throttle is almost closed, and PCM orders an overly rich mixture.

I have a pretty radical cam, but I also have vaccum canister? would this be the cause of the map code. i can rev alittle and the ses light will go out.

With all the mods you have the PCM needs to be reprogrammed. I see you have LT1 edit; however, if you new at using it, you should get the PCM reprogrammed by a professional, at least for the first time.

I spoke with the orginal owner today. He said he never had this problem. He had profess. tuned, and he sent me the backup file for the car ,that the car is tuned too.
But this problem happened with the 2nd owner and he just drove it...it runs like a beast...i just dont like smelling like gas fumes everytime i drive it....and the smoke isnt bad bad till you hammer it.....

Where can I get the replacement vaccum hoses for an LT1, My local Auto parts store says they cant get em......mainly the one with the 90* on the end.

Thats the thing, the last owner said he never touched it. He didnt have the software, He tossed it aside and lost it. The Builder gave it to me when I researched and found him and emailed him....

Can I pull the current tune off and save it?
