Default rockers a little loose

replacing my v/c gaskets. haven't started my vehicle for several weeks prior to removing the valve covers. after removal I decided to wobble the rocker arms. I noticed a little play on all the rocker arms that are on base circle. is this normal or should I re-adjust the preload? I know the lifters will pump up after start up but was just wondering if any harm resetting the preload at this time. vehicle has 140k and has a faint valve tap but engine runs fine. tnx

Slight tapping when doing a gradual accel. No tap on hard accel or decel engine runs fine. Just a note, removing the pass side kind a kicked my ***. Alt, Air inj pipe and trans dipstick needed to be removed. Was there an easier way?

My LT1 always had a little lifter noise, it was a high mile motor but ran great and was as you describe so I'd say it's normal.
