Replaced Stereo, extra connector ???
ok so I replace the stereo in the camaro today. I used a metra electric wiring harness and noticed it only had 4 channels. my Camaro came with 6 speakers, doors, back seats, and far back hatch area. the ones next to the back seats have stopped working. I was wondering if the extra connector went to those back seat speakers. if so does anyone know what the color code on them is? which one is left and which is right what is positive and which is negative?
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.

i had this same problem i had an extra wire and my backs stopped working... try connecting that wire to an extra wire on the back of the unit. its like antanna power or something but it completes the circuit to the backs or something... try that

its not an extra wire its an entire extra plug. I have the far back ones but not the "middle" ones the ones by the back seats. I hooked up the power antenna lead. Ive installed tons of stereos. never done a camaro. this connector has 9 wires I believe. one is bare almost like its a ground. after alot of google searches I think I found that it belongs to a CD changer option I dont have. the issue still remains that I have no middle speakers. Ive also read there could be an amp that needs powering but I dont know what wire it needs to power. Ive hooked up all the wires on the wire harness from metra.

The stereo you put in the car is probably four channels if it's aftermarket. So in order to get those to work you would need to tap them into either the front or the back seat wires.

ok but what wires are they? and where are they?

thats odd cause if you have the back one then the "middle" ones should be working too... wait do you have the bose system in your car?
cause if you do then you should have it all working if you have the far back "sub" working cause the back and the middles are all the same speakers and all run together..

I know usually the wires are color coded, like one set will be grey, the neg side will have a black stripe. With this though, you should either have the subs or the rear speakers left over, look at the colors and see what you have left and then you should be able to figure it out.
