rear end question
All depends on what you plan to do. The strongest probably are the huge semi floating axle units such as used in large pick up trucks, NASCAR, and in the higher drag racing classes (10.5" ring gear). Then there are the Dana 60 (9.75 ring gear), Ford 9", GM 12 bolt (8.875" ring gear), and the various stock units (around 8.5" to 8.75" ring gear). You may want to consider that the stronger they are the heavier they get.

im still trying to make up my mind if its worth the extra weight & $ to get the 9 in. you can also use a fabricated unit. Midwest Chassis & Performance

thanks guys!
i was thinking about the moser 9" first but i just wanted to see other options out there. the complete moser from spohn is like $2,000 and thats without the extras they have as options. that was a waker upper lol kind of under-estimated the price a little.

You can find all sorts of parts in the wrecking yard to start a build yourself. If you are good with welding and some fab, you can make a Dana 60 from a 1 ton truck fit and you will never be able to break that thing. Unless you have some ungodly horsepower and are running slicks and a complete four-link setup to put the power to the pavement, you will break the drive line or transmission first.
ehh im more of a basic welder like exhausts and small things of that nature, but i couldnt do a rear, at least not yet. i do have a buddy though that could probably do that. ill look into that.
