Default rear brake squeal?

i just replaced the rear brake pads on my 94 camaro. took it around the block it the back brakes are making a loud squealing noise. it stops when i hit the brake. its very annoying and when i turn left sometimes it will get real loud for a second and then go back to the normal squealing. anyone have any ideas on what it could be or how i could stop it?

did u double check to make sure the bolt on the caliper is tight and the caliper is seated firmly on the rotor ? My friend and I just replaced the rear pads on mine also. Maybe its because the pads are new ? how do ur rotors look? Are they worn ?

Those are just ideas for you to ponder on, if they don't fix it maybe they will spark an idea for you.

good luck....let me know what the noise is !

squeel should be a metal on metal issue. look for any signs of wear that would be metal on metal.

Before replacing the rear brake pads and the rear driver side rotor, my car also would make the squealing when turning.

do you use shims when putting pads on the back? Shims help with noises and squeeks. etc.
