My car will only run for about five to ten minutes before dying. runs good while running. i recently replaced optispark and water pump. did not replace coil. should I have?

ALSO, my cluster flickers when turning the key in the on position, could a bad coil cause this?

If I can hear my fuel pump, and it sounds like it always does, Does that mean it's working?

any help would be greatly appreciated.
