Exclamation possible z28 trade

ok i just meet this person about trading his 93 z28 for my 95 3.4 5 speed. the only thing is the body and interior is shot all to hell like i would have to replace 90% of the body panels on it I mean it needs alot of work done to it and the interior is pretty much gutted but the motor and trans is solid. The car has 128xxx miles on it and he let me drive it up and down the road do yall think its worth it?

I kind of need quick responses so i can tell him in a few days if were gonna trade.

FYI now i see why everyone says just upgrade to the v8 cause holy hell i had a little fun

Ya,, this does not sound good. Do you know how to do body work? With a unibody you REALLY need to know what you are doing before you take on a wrecked car. Around me you can find 93 running with no body damage and just faded paint for under 3K. That means if you can sell your car for $1500 all you need is another $1500 and your done. If this car needs quarter panels and a front clip and doors you will have a tuff time getting it done under $1500 and if the unibody is bent forget it.

Just a FYI these types of car go thru the auction all the time with clean titles. They sell anywhere from $800 to $1200. The cars are totaled (cost more to fix then they are worth done) but since the driver did not have full coverage the car was never officially totaled because no insurance company was involved.

Sounds like a car that's been beat on and neglected. You can usually tell how well a car was taken care of overall by the condition of the body and interior. If the things you can see were left to go to hell, odds are the same goes with the things you can't see.
