Ok I have 2 Camaro's (1994 and 1996) and they both are Stock V6's. One Camaro (1994) runs and has a beat up
body/ interior and the other Camaro (1996) has a great body and interior but has no motor.

My original plan was to just do a basic Motor swap, but then I started reading and watching youtube videos about Camaro's and decided that I want to do a V8 conversion.

It will be lot of work trying to find everything I need, and I was prepared for that, but I was on Craigslist today and saw a 1994 Firebird that had a blown motor (LT1 V8) and the transmission is said to be in excellent condition, it also has a posi rearend on it.

Should I get it with the risk of a FUBAR motor or just continue searching. He doesn't know what is wrong with the motor and I don't want to buy it for the motor and find out that it is FUBAR.

I plan on having the motor rebuilt if it is possible. The guy is firm on 800 bucks and the Firebird actually looks good inside and out. IF I get it will it be possible to convert 1994 Firebird parts to a 1996 Camaro? I am new to this so take it easy on me.

Black Camaro is the 1994 running Camaro

Green Camaro is the 1996 Non running Camaro

I am in the process of selling the black Camaro so that won't be in the picture long unless I need to part some things from it. So I WON'T have 3 Cars for long if I get it. Lol. I just think that if I can get a LT1 motor, Transmission, and Posi Rearend for 800 bucks and a great looking Firebird that is a steal. Am I wrong. Also will this make my Camaro a Z28? Not that I care too much just curious.

if i wanted a z28 i would switch the motor, part out the parts car and sell the good one, then i would buy a z28. it doesnt sound like you have any connections with this car so theres no real reason to go through the hassle of changing all the wiring, suspension, ect. it would be easy to sink 3k into the switch. especially if the motor needs work.
