about the only differences between a z28 and an SS are appearance mods such as hood and spoiler and wheels. granted, with the hood comes the ram air and they got a special exhaust, but they pretty much have the same performance.

add a cold air intake and a catback exhaust and you'll be right at, if not over what a stock LT1 SS will do

Have you never heard that the 93 is the fastest of the 93-97? I'm just kiddin but there is a lot of forums out there that people fight over that saying that the 93 speed density is the fastest of the LT1s. I have no idea, I'm just putting that out there and I bet someone will have something to say.

i think wat yout talkin about is the 93 6 speeds people think they r the fastest from 93-97 but from what ive read its only because of gearing in the trans.

yep faster, better looking and the tires dont wear. lol. im just full of it today. to the op there are alot of things u can do to make more power. all depends on how much money u have available.

Thats right rob, it was the gearing. The guy I bought mine off of had a 97 6 speed just like mine and he said for some reason mine was way faster than the 97. He didnt know the previous owner so maybe some things have been done to it. The only thing I know is the hypertech chip and stainless exhaust. I cant find out who the previous owner was. But the 93 was his wifes and the 97 was his and his wife would be him every time. He said she would get him out of the hole really bad and he never could catch her. I would have kept the 93 but he sold it to me because the 97 was newer and less miles. I know he wasnt just saying it to sell the car because he never told me that until I found out the car had a chip in it so I called him to see what all he had done and he hadnt done anything to it and then told me the story. Maybe mine has some mods I dont know about. But I knew I could get some talking on that subject.

yeah there's either something wrong with the 97 or some mods done to the 93...the performance differences between the 2 is really negligible. my guess is something was wrong with the 97 so it wasn't up to optimum performance.
