Cool

OK, I chickened out this time... have a local shop here in town that has done some work before on my car that quoted me $230 to replace the 3 seals on the timing cover, in the mean time I brought them a new water pump the new opti and a new thermostat to replace when they put it it back together. They are already grumbling about the time it is taking them, which I am ok paying them a little extra to get it right, but they are on the hook for any thing leaking or not right! Next time I will do this myself, but I would have spent over $100 in tools and ramps any way. Good deal for me. hopefully they get it right. I will keep you up to the moment how this plays out. A shop that gos by the book prices whould have itemized everything and cost me way more I'm sure.

lemme see

the 3 seals

they need to remove fans, waterpump, opti, crank hub

then they can begin

they will need 2 gallons coolant and a new gasket kit

If i did it as a favor, I'd hit you for $300. You got a bargain

one good way to upgrade your car is have you considered the coil on plug route? its almost identical to the LS1 and best of all its totally plug and play!it goes for 400 BUT you have to get 8 coils and fab your own mounting brackets which isnt bad...just some food for thought
