Default Opti-spark distributor

At how many miles does the opti-spark need to be replaced or normally go bad?

Usually, less than 1000 miles after it gets wet.

when i went to check out my camaro the detailer had messed the opti up by power washing the motor and it got wet. the car would not start, i was so pissed, but they sent it to their mechanic and i guess he cleaned it out or something but it ran fine after it came back.

It is not that difficult, but the water pump needs to be removed first. This is also a good time to put a new water pump in, because a bad pump will leak on top of the opty and mess it up and you will have to replace it again.
