Opti Spark Bad?
Hi, I am new on here and looking for some help. I am the proud owner of a 1981 Camaro and a 1994 Trans Am. Now I know the Trans Am isn't a Camaro but they are both F Body. The problem I am having is with the Trans Am, back about a year ago the fuel pump went out. The car ran perfect until then, well it sit for about 2-3 months until I got the money together to buy a new one and install it. At the same time I replaced the brakes, plug wires, spark plugs, all new vacuum lines on motor and put a new battery in it. It run fine for a couple of months until one day it started backfiring and hesitating and then would die when you tried to give it gas. You could crank it up and it cracking and popping and backfiring. You could wait about 5 min then crank it up and it would run fine until you put it in gear and give it gas then it would starting backfiring and cracking and popping. So I had it towed home. I have checked the wires and plugs, fuses, etc. with no luck. At this time it is just sitting and I want to fix it and am wondering if it could be the opti spark went bad? Before it started all this, sometimes in gear at a stop the motor would surge and you would really have to mash the brakes to keep it stopped or shift out of gear at stops, Also randomly the service engine light would come on and the electric fans would run full speed for a while then go off then the light would go off? No codes tripped? Any help would be great. Thanks
One more think, if you floored it it would hesitate real bad sometimes?

could be opti. best to have it scanned with a scanner that will work on a 94, sometimes not easy. odd computer. look at 28 and 29 here and see if it helps.
