Default opti firing order?

can you guys/gals tell me what the firing order is on the optispark? I literally just got this car in a trade deal I made. The alt and water pump are both out, but the front of the engine is really dirty and I want to clean it while the water pump is off. What should my best mode of attack be to clean this area around the opti? and any other info you can give me would be awesome.

Yea thanks for the help! lol no I found the firing order but I really need to know if I can get this thing wet, well more like drenched. I am planning on renting a pressure washer to clean this thing off really good but I don't want to damage anything. I know the SBC like the back of my hand. The HEI ign system is very simple and I know what I can do to keep it from being damaged by water. Keep the plastic cool and don't start for a little bit after I have cleaned it. Will this work for that dumb *** opti?

Take your plug wires off and wrap the opti well with a plastic bag. For fear of water getting past the seal, you don't want to get the opti wet, especially with a pressure washer. Are you replacing anything with the opti while you're there (whole unit, or at the very least the cap & rotor)? If your opti has never been serviced, you might be surprised (maybe not pleasantly) at how it looks inside.

I traded a 2001 2500HD 6.0/4L80e for this car. The truck had a few cosmetic issues but nothing like this car does. The original owner sold it to the guy I traded the truck to just over a month ago. Thank GOD the guy gave me her phone number! She told me she had GM replace the opti about four and half or five years back. The dealership replaced the water pump as well about the same time. She is the original owner from new in 94 and had always had regular maintenance done on it. .

As far as replacing anything else I have no plans on it right now due to my unemployment status and the lack of additional funds. I wanted something smaller and easier to work on than my truck was. What a mistake this car was under that line of thinking. lol

Yea I know. lol I have been a fan of the F body car for as long as I can remember. I have owned MANY, MANY 3rd gens and these are tight until the emissions and the other unnecessary crap are removed then they are not that bad. I wanted a bit better mpgs and the cool looks of the car did not hurt either. I have TONS of stuff to learn about these motors and then I hope it is good to go from there.

Yeah, I did a tuneup a while ago and changed 7 plugs.... Any ideas how to get to the spark plug closest to the alternator (passenger side head closest to the nose of the car)?

I have always pulled the front tires off and the inner fender well out, that well give access to the manifolds and the plugs. At least on a 3rd gen maro that is. Lol. I haven't looked at this car yet.
