If you go carbed the distributor won't fit under the cowling without chopping off parts of it. Also, the oil pump is not driven by the water pump, it is driven by a pump gear which fits where the distributor drive gear would. Also you will have to find a way to control the torque converter clutch, some of the gauges won't work, including the tach and spedometer, the fans won't work because they are computer controlled, and the AC won't work because of the same reason.

I am certain that what you want to do is possible. It's hard for me to say how your combo is going to work, but the specs look fine. Are you planning to go with a stroker crank?

I think what the others are saying is that you are going about this the hard way. But having a newer car with the old school power is cool in it's own right. But why keep the LT1 block? Why not just go out and get that 427 BBC with the tri-power set-up?

ok, like pete said the oil pickup gear is not run off the waterpump. so where would you put your oil pump gear? MAIN PROB... the Intake manifold on a regular SBC 350 the intake has ports for the coolant ports/the thermostat neck, AN LT1 has none of these the coolant doesnt flow through the intake manifold, it goes straight to the heads then the block. or does eldebrock have a special intake manifold for LT1's that want to go carbd ? as for the cams i know they look the same, but Isnt there a extra fuel pump lobe on carbeurated SBC cams that is not there on fuel injected cams? if not i stand corrected. good luck with your project.
