Ok guys, I've looked everywhere and made a few local calls to parts stores and no one knows where to get or has a larger capacity oil pan for my camaro. Im guessing it has to be a 6 quart oil pan

Z28pete, you said earlier that you had to get a larger oil pan for your camaro since you got the high capacity oil pump, do you know where I can get one (maybe online) for my car.

Also, im worried if I got a larger oil pan that I will not have that much ground clearance. Anyone have any suggestions ?

I modified the oil pan myself by making it wider, but you can always go back to stock pump and avoid all the hassle.
Try this site for Lt1 oil pans, pretty pricey, but u need them if u want to use the high volume pump.

How did you modify your stock oil pan and make it wider?

One another thing, is a high volume oil pump needed/recomended since I am now running a powerdyne supercharger, or should I just replace the oil pump with standard oil pump and save all the hassle ?

Just replace the pump with a good brand standard volume one. From what I understand the supercharger you are using has its own oil supply, so the stock pump is ample, just make sure you have an oil cooler installed. The only reason for a HV pump is if the engine is built to racing spec with large bearing clearances that allow more oil than normal to flow, and the high volume is needed to maintain pressure.
As for expanding the stock pan. You don't really want to go any deeper to avoid scraping the ground on bumps, but you can expand the sides by welding the equivalent of a small box ( 1qt capacity) on each side of the pan, and hole sawing two one inch holes on each side of the pan to allow oil to flow in & out of the boxes, similiar to the LS1 Vette. Use some heavy sheet metal 14 or 16 ga to make up boxes & put them toghether with a mig or tig welder.

How do you change the oil pump? I am going to buy a 1988 Z28 5.7l and the seller mentioned it needs an oil pump replacement.
He also mentioned the engine is covered in a green film due to the oil pump quitting? What would that be from?
