Default is it normal for the clock to stay on?

My clock always stays on even when the car is off. its a 96 z28 with the Bose Delco option. my battery has died a couple times so im not sure if its a leak or bad battery.

Is it possible that the clock/time button is stuck so that it is partially pressed at all times? Pressing this button is the only way to display the time when the key is out.

The clock display should go off after abuot 10 minutes with the key off, or immediately if a door is opened (RAP module). However; even if it remained on, the draw is so small that it would take weeks to run down the battery.

Some previous owner could have clipped all the wires(instead of buying a wiring harness)to install an aftermarket stereo. Then wrongly wired it back together, just to sell it after removing their stereo.Check wiring to radio!!

thanks it's probably the wiring because the previous owner added a 6 cd changer. but it's the original deck and the clock is the only thing that stays on besides the alarm system.
