do a search on reading diagnostic codes for your year and model i think u can do it using a wire to connect a and b terminal and reading the number of times the ses light blinks. at least thats how i can do it on my car and truck. if u have access to a shop manual it will tell if you can and show u how to do it, where the correct terminals are, what the codes mean. i think theres a sticky on the site somewhere on it.

Well.... I think my SES light turns on because my air pump fuse is blown. Replaced it and it blows every time I start the car. Is it a bad ground someplace? common problem? bad pump?

I also tried to top off my radiotor fluid to get the low coolant light off when the car was on and cold and and a bunch spilled out and now it over heats. I am having a hard time to fill it. The radiator stays cool but the temp goes through the roof ... and the engine is hot so idk what the hell is going on.

Still cant figure out how to read the damn engine codes because the port is an OBDII and the computer is OBD I. So weird!

ANy help on any of this things would be great. Especially the overheating because it never did this before. Oh and by the way I have an electric water pump. IDK if that makes a difference.

check the wires to the water pump, it may be the ele. water pump is not turning on. also how low was the water, if it get so low u have to bleed the air out from the bleeder valves u see at the front of the motor. one on the bottom of the tb another on what i think is a heater hose. if u dont get the air out it gets hot.
when i first got the car i have now my air pump was out and did the same thing, it was not pluged in and didnt throw codes but once i pluged it in it did and then would blow the fuse. found a new replacement on ebay put it in and no more codes.

Nice...Thanks for the info. I think the water pump is turning on and working because it starts to overflow when I leave the cap open. I only have one bleeder valve it looks like the second is capped for the water pump. Thanks for all the help...it is much appreciated.

well it would overflow as the car heats up even if the pump wasnt working. but an air lock would not let the pump do its thing so get the air out first and if its still doing it then u may have a bad water pump or pump switch sensor or bad connection at the wires.

how about your thermostat? did you by chance ever look at it, did you have any rust in your coolant? Permaseal? or any silver flakes? It wouldnt affect your car to much when your driving, but if your stopped once the engine is warm and then the temp goes up, it could possibly be a fan relay.

Okay I finally got the car to stop overheating. I changed the thermostat and added coolant through the thermostat housing once draining and flushing it out. Instant fix. Thanks for all the help everyone. Taking off the thermostat is also a good way to check the electric water pump because I could hear it turning on.

Now I have to address the bad air pump causing the SES light to turn on. How hard is this to fix?

Car is almost top shape coolant sensor is still on so that needs to be changed as well as the low oil light. Will oil leak if I change the sensor with oil in? I know it's probably a dumb question but I sea foamed the engine going on a 100 miles ago so I am going to change the oil today.

My last problem is that damn ABS light and not being able to read any of the codes because of the OBD II connector and OBDI computer.

The weirn noises when turning also seems to get better the more I drive. I noticed that there is no lubercant anywhere on the car like door hinges and such and it cause weird squeks. Is there any suspension parts that need lube to quiet the car because the entire car is dirty and dry. Also would dead shocks/struts cause this because mines are beyond dead. Once again Thanks all for all the help. The car is slowly getting better.

unplug the pump and see if it blows a fuse. if not i would think its internal in the pump. to replace is easy. three bolts and unplug the wire harness and its out. try posting these in the tech section, should get some good ideas. also may get the right way to read the trouble codes. i know u get some kind of adapter but cant remember what they called it. the noise in front could be struts, tyrod end or ball joint.
