Default Noise From Engine

Ive got a 95 z28 lt1. Ive been hearing a pinging sound from the engine , sounds allot like crapy gas ping. opened the hood up and its coming from the drivers side sounds like its in the top end. Do these valves have to be adjusted or is there any other info anyone has. The engine has about 80,000 miles on her. I noticed it a while back in the morning when it was cold it would make that noise and then go away as the engine heated up . it seems to do it all the time now. any suggestions would be appreciated thank you

i had the same problem with mine when i got it had a broken rocker arm on the drivers side and a bent pushrod on the othersideand the rocker arms needed adjusting. It's not hard to fix just pull the valve covers off and go from there.

Or if u dont want to spend the 20 bucks on the book all u have to do is take both valve covers off put the number 1 cylinder at tdc there is a mark on the harmonic balancer but everyother turn of the arrow on the pulley at 12:00 is tdcof number 1 cylinderjust look at the rockers you'll be able to tell. If the rockers for that cylinder arent already loose just loosen them a tad bit then tighten until there is no play in the pushrod then tighten 3/4 turn.Repeat for the rest if the cylinders and u should be set. Here is the firing order
1-8-7-2-6-5-4-3.
