no oil presure

Default no oil presure

ok guy i need some help if you can. i lost all oil presure from my car and the valves started ticking so no oil getting up top right. well replace the oil pump today still doing if. is there something else that migh be the problem? thanks for any advice.

the drive gear has probly went to pieces. you take it out from the top, have to take the intake off. wish you would have posted before changin the pump.

i was thinkin that but i replaced that with a builit aluiminum 1 about 2 years ago. and when i put the pump in i put the shaft up tried to turn it and it wouldn't, also no chunks of anything was in the oil pan.

but if it that atlease i saw 1 in the junk yard intake was already off so it will be easy to get.

there made of plastic, well some kind of composite. i used a aluminum aftermarket housing. http://www.herronperformance.com/sto...&productId=317

yes i used that 1 also. do you think it could have come apart. not sure i guess ill check it out in the morning.

the plastic ones break and that lets it ride up till the gear doesnt reach the cam gear or the pump driveshaft disconnects. ive heard of the pin in the gear and/or the gear itself fail.

yes thats what it is but its just the gear. now i just have to find 1 by monday so i can get home.

You can use a old style distr. gear if you make a bushing for it.

yeah i thought that went to the prt store all they had was a brass 1 but i found the hole set up on ebay for 10 buck.
