you know that for sure? or are you guessing? because i don't see how you can get to that assumption with the limited information we have
I am assuming that people know what the normal range of oil pressure should be with their cars...if they are having a problwm with the oil pressure fluctuating rapidly with acceleration, then yes I can deduce that the regulator in the oil pump is stuck, I have seen it on three occasions. Usually the increase on acceleration is great and results in the car beginning to leak as seals are pushed out by high oil pressure.
I should have included that a little fluctuation is normal and that the regulator's job is to stabilize oil pressure....now dont run out and change your oil pumps because I said fluctuation is undesirable... a little is normal even like 10-30, but more than that and you are having regulator issues.
