Default New to the camaro world

Hello,

I'm new to this forum and the camaros. I currently own a 2003 mazdaspeed protege thats heavily boosted. Bigger turbo, intercooler, exhaust, exhaust mani, afc, all the bolt on goodies. I thought it was a lot of fun until I drove my roommates camaro, and next thing I know, I bought it from him.

I just purchased the Camaro. A 1996 Red Camaro Z28 with 98k on the clock.

Mods:
CAI
Hooker Super Comp Headers
Hypertech reflashed ECU
Hurst Short Shifter
Cawl Hood

It currently just got back from the dealership and it had the optispark, distributor cap and water pump replaced.

I replaced one of the headlights, and got 4 new tires.

It needs to have the headers regasketed, apparently the flanges are warped and will need to be sliced to seal correctly. So I was gonna cut sections out of the flanges and use fresh gaskets, and put new gaskets in the collectors for kicks.

Does anyone know of an easier way to fix the leaks?

Does anyone have any advice on other things to look for or to replace just as preventative maintenance?

I was planning on getting a 160 degree thermostat and reprogramming the ecu for that.

I attached a photo for kicks

Thanks.
J

You might get a good seal using copper. Even if you don't you can use them after haveing the flanges surface ground. summit has their own line that mite do the trick.
