you really want to do boltons before you go for a cam. if the intake and manifolds are too restrictive openning up flow in the valves isnt going to do you a whole lot of good.

the lt1 guys around here usually recommend dynatech headers for a good balance for power/price. start with Long tube headers, an intake, and headerback exhaust. there is a write up which goes through all these boltons and your options stickied in the 4th gen section

I agree with Specter, your first step really should be a cold-air intake since the stock one utterly sucks on the early 4th gens. After that you need to focus on exhaust. I recommend Kooks first, and as Specter said Dynatech for a close second for headers. You're probably going to be best off getting a good cat-back exhaust system before you get headers. Intake and cat-back will take up enough of your money right now...

hey everyone i need some serious help!! so first off i just bought a 95 z with 90000 owned by an older gentlemen which has had something done including bore of .20 high volume oil pump bigger oil pan high volume water pump new opti and a mild comp cam and a complete k&n intake. The wierd thing is that he did all these things with completely stock exhaust stock TB Stock intake manifold and no head work besides the needed for the cam. I am wondering what mods would wake up my car the most with these other mods considered and by the way it is an m6

Get your cat-back exhaust first, then go and get some good Long tube headers. Don't mess with the intake manifold and only mess with a new TB if you go for a 58mm. You're not going to need the new TB until you're making a good amount of HP (350+ RWHP), so after you get your headers you can start thinking internals.

idk slvr...to me it depends if he's auto or stick. if he's auto i'd get a bigger stall before internals and new gears as well.

If he wants to keep in streetable a bigger stall is going to make it harder to keep it an easily streetable car. With gears you see a pretty decent hit to the wallet as far as gas goes, and if you're going to replace the gears you may as well invest $2000 in a ford 9"
