Default need mod help motor or suspension??

i got a 1996 z28 6 speedcamaro with the lt1 it is bone stock except for the flowmasters. i was wandering what are some good/cheap mods i can do. checked into the hypertech but $300+ is too much for just 20 hp maybe and i dont want to do underdrive pully becase i have duel amps that pull on the on charging system alot and i dunno if there is a big enough od pully to make it run normal. though about going with suspension upgrades so i can hook up instead of spinning but i still load up 4 people in my car and dont wanna bottom out with a soft suspension. guess im just looking for a "pro's" opion on where to go for better 1/4 times any susgestion on mods would be appreciated.

fyi: i drive it everyday so not really looking to tear motor down if ya know what i mean

what's your budget? what are your goals? do we have to pass emissions?

on the 4th gen page, there's a whole thread stickied entitle "where to start modding a 4th gen"...read it

do like whammer says and get your reading time in. u would be surprised at what 20 hp is worth. a moroso or k&n cai would be in order. yellow top battery may help on the stereo.

first thing i did with my old car was exhaust, i found headers and y-pipe for cheap and put them on my self, then any other bolt ons intake and such maybe have some gears installed

then its time to look into a catback exhaust system. in your range you're probably looking at magnaflow or a used borla

you will want to do a catback before you do headers
