Need help with 94 Z28
I have no clue what my car is doing any help would be great. Sometimes the car is hard to start and sometimes its fine. When you are driving it starts to skip bad and stalls out occasionally, it usually just does this during stop and go traffic. If you really get on it it will backfire, but it will cruse down the interstate for hours at 80 mph without a problem. When it starts skipping it will trigger the SES light then the SES light stay on for awhile and thengo off. I checked the igniton module and replaced the coil. I even pulled the dist. to see if any mostuire or oil was inside, nothing. The dist, cap, rotor, plugs, wires, and ignition module are all less then 6 months old. I put a MSD cap and rotor on it when I replaced the dist last time. I really can't think of what else it could be. I think it is running rich because something is not firing.

your symptoms sound like running rich. is your SES blinking? this would indicate a misfire. otherwise if you are just running so pig rich at certain rpm it could cause these problems ie cruising is fine and open throttle chokes.
sounds like you have replaced everything electrical, maybe the pcm has gotten buggered up.

When I had the cap and rotor off all off the pins inside the cap had burn spots on them as well as the center of the rotor. I don't know if this is normal or not. The SES light does not flash. Is there a way to test the PCM. Last time I took it to a shop to read a code they could not get the code so I don't know.

The easy way would be to drive around with an OBDI scanner plugged in & see what the code is when the MIL lights. Also scan for retained codes, and scan the O2 sensors to see if they are working properly or indicating a bad A/F mixture.

Ok I went and got the car scanned. The scanner pulled 6 codes. 14 collant sensor circuit (high temp), 32 EGR failure, 48 MAF failure, 66 Air conditioning refrigerant pressure sensor ciruit, 82 trans 1-2 shift solenoid circuit / Ignition Control 3X singnal, and 77 cooling fan relay control.

It's not going to cause any problems, although it probably won't make your SES light go away either. You probably want to clear up the MAF issue first because with a malfunctioning MAF your car defaults to the MAP and preset fuel tables to determine mixture, which is going to result in a rich mixture, meaning you're not going to be running as well and you're doing worse on gas than you should be.
