Default need help

so i have a 95 z28 camaro with a 350 v8 lt1 im looking to replace the engine and found one on craigslist for 700 bucks with 17k miles its a 94 lt1 and from a automatic car will that work in my 6 speed camaro ?

he was going to do a engine swap in his nova and decided to do a ls1 its been sitting for a couple years though

im a new to working on cars what should i do when i go to buy the engine ?

well if its not set up so you can hear it run its sorta a shot in the dark. if you know the guy and have trust then not a problem. if its far away and there is no warranty then your going to want to be very sure its a good engine. really dont want to install it to find the block or head is cracked and didnt show up on a compression test. dont want to be putting new gaskets and hours of time into a project only to have to do it all over. your going to want to change the oil pan gasket, intake manifold gaskets at a minimum. you will also need exhaust manifold gaskets. if it can not be started ask to have the intake taken off. good sign if it looks clean. do a compression test.
