my '96 Z sounds like it is about to fall apart (suspension wise). Everything clicks and ticks and makes loud noises. Someone point me in the right direction please?

 

follow the sounds. check shock and struts, exhaust, brakes, bushings and ball joints. the jack and spare is a noise maker if you dont get it in right and tight. rearend will make strange noises if oil is low or unit is failing.

 

Since you don't know where to start, go to a good alignment/suspension shop and have them look the car over. Front end noise is a bad thing and can be dangerous.
