Default LT4 hot cam questions

i am putting a LT4 hot cam in my 95 Z28 and i have some questions, here it is, do i need anything else besides the hot cam kit which comes with
One camshaft P/N 809-24502586
16 roller rocker arms kit P/N 809-19210729
16 valve springs P/N 809-12551483
16 valve caps P/N 809-10212808
16 valve keys P/N 809-24503856
16 valve spring shims P/N 809-10212809
then i know i need the lifters but what lifters do i need for my LT1, and do i need anything else besides these items, do i need new valves, my engine has been completely rebuilt 26000 miles ago so they should be in good shape but will they work with the new setup, and finally, im thinking the new cam will have to be programed into the computer but not sure, any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks

yes you need a tune it won't run right with out it. you don't need new lifter's they came with roller lifters unless you change them on the rebuild. the valves are fine too. you should get the lt4 knock sensor modual it goes in the pcm with out it you'll gethe check engine light on.

The stock lifters are fine. You only need better pushrods, the LT4 knock sensor, and a tune in addition to the Hotcam kit.

the 1.6 rockers require a different length of push rod, and yes get hardened quality push rods. what are you paying for the kit? you will get a increase not near the lt4 without the heads being done.

I think only the 94-95 years have hardened pushrods but I'd still replace them.

thanks for the help, i got my hot cam kit from jegs for $585, im not too concerned with added power, its more about the sound, i just recently bought the car and the guy i got it from had it mildly built but cant remember what all was done to it, but i just recently smoked a 2011 5.0 mustang GT which makes alot more power then the stock 95 Z28 so im pretty content with the power for now, just want it to sound to match its power, thanks again for the help

you may want to find out what you have if at all possible. the lt4 cam may be a down grade.
