Default LT4 conversion

anyone done the LT4 conversion? i am thinking about doing the LT4 conversion using AFR LT4 heads and a AFR ported intake. what did you do to the PCM to support the LT4 , becuae the LT4 doesn't use a EGR valve.

The conversion differs depending on what year LT1 you start off with. But in any case you will need new timing cover, heavy duty timing gear set, lt4 heads, lt4 intake manifold, lt4 valves, valve springs, roller rockers, lt4 hot cam, new optispark depending on what you have now. Retune the PCM for LT4 application, deleting the EGR. May also want to delete the downstream O2 sensors if you are not using them now.

IMO you will get better results for you money by getting a Lloyd Elliot head and custom cam package.

they are talking about the same amount of money as the AFR LT4 heads and ported intake...but AFR claims more hp. mine is a 97 so my opti will work, i was going to put a Comp. Cams bumpstick in it , and a LT4 chain anyway. so that part doesn't bother me..and either way i have to custom tune. AFR made similar hp , with a smaller camshaft....i value your opinion so i guess i'll do some more research and see what concusion i come too....thanks pete.
