Default LT1 VS LT4

just a few question on this. you can change an LT1 to an LT4 right?
is it a lot of work to do such a thing? what is the MPG loss in such a thing?

You would have to do a lot of work to get an LT1 to have everything the LT4 had, you would pretty much have to completely rebuild it. The LT4 has heavier duty components all around as well as a 4 bolt main. That being said, you can get a the LT4 Hotcam kit and LT4 heads and intake and make better numbers than a stock LT4, but you still won't be able to safely push the redline as far. Needless to say, if you're going to get a new cam and heads you can make more power with aftermarket components. Either way you're probably looking at at least $1000 for everything that you'll end up needing and it only goes up from there, especially if you aren't doing your own labour.
