Thumbs up lt1 vs ls1

i am aware that the ls1 has more hp but in terms of the complete package which would you guys say is better? i raced a silver ls1 trans am and was in my 97 black ss lt1 he took me but not by that much. with a few cheap mods like cutouts an intake and another 15hp id say an lt1 could run with an ls1. i personally think the lt1 sounds much nicer than the ls1. what are the actuall power ratings. i know both the ls1 and lt1 were underrated. ls1= 350 hp 365 trq lt1= 300 hp 340 trq. actual numbers? the hp varies year to year as well. in 96 they got another 10 i believe or something

i agree that an lt1 sounds better...but taht's all a matter of opinion. as far as which is better? well obviously i stuck with the lt1, however i'd have to say the ls1 is a better choice. its got a very solid platform to work off of and its newer technology

Their both really old technology, antics as you might say. Hell even the LS3 in the new camaro is outdated. Untill they bring back the double over head cam set-up that was in the LT5 and is in my four-runner, all I have to say is grow up!

i thought the main diffrence between them was the heads and cam?we all know the intakes diffrent aswell but thats not a big deal along with other odds and ends. But there both 5.7s i say you could swap heads and throw you a cam in it of your choice and stay with a ls1 if not walk it a lil.

The LT1 is an actual 350, the LS1 has a whooping 4 more cubic inches in it..
The LS1 is newer, and has more HP but personally I'd rather have the LT1.

wow...lots of uninformed in here

the LS1 is a 346 while the LT1 is a 350

parts from an LS1 are not interchangeable with an LT1
