Default lt1 stay with cobra?

I got caught at a light, with an 03/04 cobra toady. He had a convertible, obviously an off road x pipe, and i dont know what else. Light turns green, i let off the clutch at 2500 rpm, and didnt move, roster my 295 eagle F1s thought): down the road we did a pull from 35ish, i started in first, we were neck and neck till 90 when i cutt it off. How did i stay with a corba when i only have a couple bolt ons and suspension? Im confused.
97 z28, cai, tb,exhaust, and springs, shocks, pan handle, ect,, normal suspension stuff

naughty naughty for street racing

A termi will eat a bolt on LT1. A tuned, pulley change and exhaust Termi stomps all over 4th gens except those which are modified and sprayed. You can put some crazy boost into those engines.

My hunch is that it wasn't an 03/04 Terminator rather it was an 01/02 which are naturally aspirated.

you can hate on Ford all that you want but the 03/04 Terminators are a heck of a vehicle

This. Easy 420 whp+ with boltons and pulley only.

Did you hear the SC whine? The SC on the Termis, even with a stock pulley, have really good blower noise.

We were at a friends drag strip, before it was officially open (;...it was not a terminator (didnt have the "im going to eat you" look) and those are a car i will not hate on.... it heard the sc winding.. i know it was an 03 04. After the guy asked what i had done to the lt1.. i did smell a little bit of burning anti freeze and he had some white smoke coming out the back..my guess was a clone, his car was beat to hell, or my cars secretly an lt4(:

the 03/04 Cobras were the "Terminators" with the supercharger. The naturally aspirated version was labeled the Mach 1

They both had 32 valves and were forged but the Cobra was blown.

earlier Cobras were not supercharged

I don't normally talk up the stangs but I have 2 friends with these cars and I use to sit between them at work. With a pully and a decent exhaust and a tune they where both hitting 420+ at the wheels. Stock LT1 is what 245? Even the LT4 is what maybe 300 RWHP? Something could have been wrong with his car is about the only thing that comes to mind.

and that 420 RWHP is very drivable with the A/C running.

My hunch is the car was not an 03/04

What stinks is people who own the older Cobras with the forged engine or own the 03/04 Mach 1 try to price them so high that it's more expensive to buy one, add a S/C than to buy a termi itself.

I'm always on the lookout for a fair priced Mach 1 or Termi but "fair price" and Mach1 or Termi is an oxymoron
