LT1 revs up and then dies idling... Help!
Hello all!
Just bought a 1995 Z28 Camaro about a month ago. Got a really good deal cause it had a small miss in it. Replaced the fuel filter, both oxygen sensors, air filter and blocked off the EGR. No more missing and the service light no longer on. However, today in a drive-thru the temp was at the last hash mark before orange and the motor revved up and down and then died. Would not restart. Any ideas? I have read from the opti to a blown head gasket. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Welcome to the forums!!!
The first thing you need to do is make sure that the cooling system is in order. Flush and bleed your cooling system properly:

Next, you need to diagnose your primary and secondary ignition and your fuel.
Follow this for the fuel:

On to your ignition system; you said the car got hot, then it died and would not restart. That happened to me a while back, and it turns out that it was the ICM (Ignition control module). The ICM is located on the driver side head, bolted to the front. It is on a braket with the coil. Here is a quick test you can do to see if it's the ICM: Disconnect the wire that goes from the coil to the opti from the opti side. Hold a piece of metal next to it (don't actually hold the metal) and crank the car. If you observe a spark, then chances are pretty goo that it's the opti. If no spark, replace the ICM (and the coil while your at it).
Do that, and let us know how it goes.
Good luck and kill Rustanks!!!
