Default lt1 rebuild

I just got an lt1 pulled out of my parts camaro and i'm gonna rebuild it. What are some parts that I should replace in the rebuild for max performance? I am getting an lt4 cam and possibly roller rockers, but what are some more intelligent buys? Thanx

If you go with the LT4 cam they make a kit with springs and 1.6 RR. A fuel presure regulator, and headers will help with whatever combination of engine componints.

If you are going to get the LT4 cam, you should get the complete kit with springs and roller rockers, as carguylt1 advised. In addtion you should upgrade the timing gears and chain to LT4 standards also. Depending on the vintage of you engine, you may need a new front cover and late model optispark in order to install the LT4 timing set.

You should go to your local supermarket and pick up the latest issue of Chevy High Performance magazine. There's a great article in there about how they make a 440 and a 480 HP 383 LT1. If you're willing to put in some time and effort, that's the route I'd take. The article goes much more in depth on specifics, and even if you don't want to go that far, you can at least get some ideas of other stuff you can do to it.

if stroking it is the way you wanna go you can get an LT1 383 stoker kit for about $900 dollars off ebay. personally ... if it was me building it , i think this time i would start off with an Eagle forged crankshaft, set of Mahle forged flat top pistons and compliment them with a set of Total Seal gapless piston rings. then a Moroso billet high volume oil pump. nothing says power like a good strong bottom end. then instead of of the LT4 cam i would go with a nice lopey Crane custom grinded 4/7 swap cam. i've heard so much talk about them and would like to see if they are all they are made up to be. then whichever intake i decided on i would have the underneath polished to keep the oil down in the bottom end where it should be. Sick
