Default LT1 Random dying

First off I'd say there's a lot of good information on this forum. But I could not find exactly what my problem could be.
For some background information; I have a 1987 IROC-Z, 5 speed, With the LT1 conversion. The conversion was not done by myself I bought it like that. It was done by a mechanic that seemed to new know what he was doing.

Next is my symptoms; I was driving last night, kinda got into the throttle a little bit in first gear went to shift into second then it fell flat on the face. it restarted no problem and continue driving. I finished my errands got back on the road and need to shift into third and she fell on her face again. This time it took a little cranking to get her to turn over, but she finally did and I drove the rest of the way home, no problem through the city so it was stopping go traffic. Both times there was no hesitation just died. it has done it sence, but I parked it to find out what exactly I can do to fix it.

What I troubleshot; I have fuel pressure I have spark. the motor is obd 2 and the connector was installed which makes a kind of nice to figure out what's going on.

So any help would be great
Thanks for listening
Dan

As mentined, see if any codes are set, pending, or retained, in which case start from there.
In most cases when an engine suddenly stops, it turns out to be an electrical problem. In your case it seems to be intermittent, which makes it very hard to find. You could start by wiggling all electrical connections while the engine is running and be lucky enough to find one that makes the engine die. Being that the engine died while under heavy load, which causes the engine to move in its mounts, you may want to check that no wires or connections are being pulled open, or that any wires are being pinched and shorted out.
