Default lt1 question...

i recently sold my camaro and got a 95 trans am and im curiousaboutwhat temp should i be running at?... when im driving it struggles to get above 180, but while im sitting in traffic it getsa littleabove the 210 mark but quickly cools down when i start driving again. is this normal with the lt1's cause my 6er never went above 210 evenon the hottest days. thanks for any info...

The reason it starts to cool down when you start driving is because you're getting more air through the radiator via the front air dam. My car does that too on hot days, don't worry about it.

Me too, i got stuck in traffic on the freeway during a hot late summer day and it got hot then once we started moving it dropped down again.

thanks guys. i wasnt worried about why it cooled down so fast. lol
i was just wondering if it was normal for it to get that hot while not moving before air was getting in there.

Ya, don't worry about it getting hot fast, if it gets too hot the fans will come on and take the temp down a bit. If you are just sitting I'd suggest not running the A/C if it gets too hot though.

Yeah, run your heater on high if you get paranoid about it.
