For those who have a built lt1 in your camaro what is the specs on the cam shaft you run? Whats your preference and why?

I also heard some videos of your cars runnning if you have videos i would like to hear them....... no real reason just cause I love the sound of a healthy cam.[/align]

a lot of your cam choice will depend on what heads you're running which rob hinted at...if you aren't putting better flowing heads on then there are certain cams that will work better, depending on what you're after. are you after big dyno numbers? are you after a track performer? are you after something that just sounds mean?

also that size cam that im lookin at is real big for the stock bottom end or 355 the reason i can go so big and it still be streetable is because a stroker motor lik a 383 or 396 eats up duration and lift. so the cam doesnt seem as big and lumpy

this sounds like a good all around LT1 cam. duration may be getting into the larger range but it should behave itself pretty well

I plan on running my car in two types of racing next summer. I want to run the qt mile and my dad races auto cross in his vette. After i was out of the house I always wanted to race with him but never could afford it. Now I can so I plan to build a short block and clean up the stock heads before summer. His car has 423hp at the rear tires so Im hoping to close up that gap alittle so he doesnt spank me. I know I wont get anywhere close to what he has in hp with the budget i want to stay in but anything will help. I like a spunge right now. I want to soak up all the knowledge i can get. I hope this doesnt bother you guys.
