I have a 95 z28 that I put a 94 trans am engine in and after doing some research I found that the optispark is different for each year and I was wondering if anyone knows if the computer from my 95 can be reprogramed to use the optispark that came with the 94 ta????? any help would be apreciated...

I dont think they are different in the aspect of computers just in the basic structure of the optispark. I think the main difference was the vaccum for the optispark and that has nothing to do with the computer. But try posting this in the LT1 forum.

 

There are two versions of the optispark, Unvented (92, 93, 94) Vented (95, 96, 97). Electrically they are the same and the computer (PCM) does not care which one it is working with. However, They are machanically different and the late models won't fit on the early modelengines without modifications, or vice versa.
