LT1 cheap upgrades
hey guys im new to the thread and i am wondering about the 95 Z28. me and my dad have found some pretty good deals on the Z28 and since he wants something fuel injected for me, i thought that this would be a good car to start with. is this a car for a new driver? what kind of upgrades are good to start with? help much appreciated. thanks, Tyler
im 17...ive had the car for while and handled it in many conditions especially in the rain here in florida... so learning to handle the car and practicing your launches would be safest and a big help but anyway.....first mod is usually exhaust. You could go with a full catback system or get creative with it, ranges from 15-20 hp, second would be a cold air intake there roughly around 200 and give you around another 20 hp up top, third are gear ratios (3.73:1) these will dramatically improve your cars performance off the line and around .4 seconds up in your quarter which is alot...i would do those mods in order seeing how youll get the most out of the gears after you free up some restrictions
IMO its not a good car for a new driver. I'd bang around in some small, cheap, safe and slightly tourqe-y-ish 4 banger for a while then start moving up. Chevy 350 no matter what flavor (LT/LS) is no joke, always has been and should be treated like explosives, respected and never miss handled.
