That makes sense. My fuel gauge started acting up lately too. Ugh, time to replace the fuel pump. What a pain to do in these cars. I wish the Camaro had a trap door like my Grand Prix!

Well, I think I'll try this:

Thanks for the link craby. I'm waiting on my fuel pump from rockauto. Makes sense since my gas gauge has been acting up for awhile now. I've changed so much on the car in the last 3 years lol.

Got my fuel pump in and replaced it tonight. car seems to run better! I still have that sound coming from the engine. It started when I got a shop to replace the spark plugs on the passenger side. I wonder if they messed something up with the power steering pump when they took it off to run the wires? It only does it when I'm in Drive or reverse (under load) when I'm at a red light or in traffic.

I also still have a miss in the engine. No codes still. I'm wondering about the MAP sensor or MAF sensor. Ugh.

Will do! Hope it's something simple like that. I've thrown enough parts at it in the last while lol!

And an update! Spark plug wire on the drivers side closest to the back was broken right near the boot! Luckily I keep my old wires hanging around. Replaced it and it runs nice and smooth again. Didn't see ant vacuum lines out of place. But when I turned the wheel it whined a little more. It's weird because it's not the usual PS pump whine I'm used to. I'll replace it when time and budget permit. In the meantime I will drive it!

kool, check your tensioner/idler. mine on the van sounded just about like a power steering pump. took the belt off to check for noise from the pump and turned the tensioner, it made noise and was lose when i turned it by hand.

OMG! Coming home the car all of a sudden started missing and running like crap. When I got home I looked under the car and guess what! A spark plug wire came off the distributor! I guess I have to use some zip ties to make sure they stay on. Wow. I changed the tensioner pulley 2 years ago but it's worth a check to see if that's iy. At least it's cheaper than a PS pump!
