I have a 1997 camaro and that I just had new plugs and wires put on it. When I get on it hard it loses power . What might be causing this?

lose or bad plug wire. did it start after the plugs and wires were changed or did you change them because of the problem?

Most likely a spark issue, but we need some more info to pin point the issue like craby mentioned.

The plugs are good. I have checked them. This was happening before I changed the plugs. I had a new distributor put on it and headers and it was fine for about 5 months then all of a sudden when I gas down on it hard it seems *** it loses power spits and spudders or it is not getting enough gas or maybe too much gas.

When you did your headers did you also replace the cats? Also, have you checked your fuel filter, fuel pressure etc.? It may not be a problem related to spark.

another good idea is to replace any vacuum hose (i.e brake booster, pcv valve & hose, ect.) i changed all of mine and the car runs like a champ. check the connections to the MAP, MAF, and IAT sensors. clean your throttle body and make sure the IAC is clean. Honestly, any little work you do the car is gonna be beneficial. 1997 was a while ago, and many parts are more than likely deterriorated.
